Extended Deadline: Call for Submissions for the Jenny Knauss Leadership Awards!



CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!
NOMINATE AN EMERGING LEADER/ORGANIZATION

Jenny Knauss, who was the Founding Executive Director of the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health (ICAH), and was most recently the President of Alzheimer's Spoken Here, a Chicago-based advocacy organization, died of Alzheimer's Disease this past June at Catonsville Commons Nursing Home in Catonsville, Maryland. ICAH is truly saddened by this loss of a leader and tireless advocate, and we would like to honor her memory and give tribute to her legacy at ICAH's 35th anniversary celebration on November 16, 2012. Jenny Knauss Youth Advocate Award: Nominee should be between the ages of 14-21, a proven leader, who is outspoken, courageous, a pioneer who shows leadership ability, has creative approaches to problem solving, and is a strong advocate for youth.  Activist should focus on reproductive freedom, sexuality, girls health care, rights of pregnant and parenting youth and education, as well as women's health in general.

Jenny Knauss Emerging Organization Award: Nominee should be a social justice-oriented non-profit organization, committed to youth health issues and an up-and-coming, leading organization in the field, under five years of existence and has an operational budget of $300,000 or less.
Please, provide statement of nomination (250-300 words re: why individual/organization is deserving of award), bio of candidate/organization/website (if applicable) and contact information. Deadline for submissions is end of day, Monday, OCTOBER 8, 2012. Please, submit all materials electronically to Anita Banerji.
