Become a Member of the Arts Liaisons Support Team

Ingenuity and CPS are looking for Chicago arts and cultural community members, retired principals and teachers, teaching artists, parents and members of the broader school community to support our Arts Liaisons* as members of the Arts Liaison Support Team.

The volunteer Team will support the CPS Department of Arts Education and a cohort of 10-15 Arts Liaisons by:

•    Helping to develop and deliver content for professional development trainings
•    Assisting liaisons in data collection for the Creative Schools Certification Program
•    Identifying resources and opportunities to share with arts liaisons
•    Planning arts partner showcases with liaisons and Chicago's arts and culture sector

The Team is approximately a 3 hour monthly commitment, and participation in a summer Leadership Institute on July 22 and 23, 2013 is strongly encouraged.

If you are interested, click here to apply before June 3rd. Selected participants will be notified by June 14th. For additional information, email Evan Plummer at eeplummer@cps.edu.

*CPS Arts Liaisons connect students, schools, and communities to resources and opportunities to grow and expand arts programming for their school in music, dance, drama, and the visual arts. Each Liaison identifies, develops, and leads arts programs that will have a positive impact on learning. And each year, they will work toward new rigorous goals that meet the needs of their school community.

Available Grants

The Spencer Foundation's Data Use Initiative is cultivating studies on how K-8 educators use data on student performance to inform instruction.

The Evidence for the Classroom RFP seeks to address the gap in the research literature on whether, when, and how student data informs classroom instruction with research grants of up to $300,000, on teachers' use of student performance data from kindergarten through 8th grade.

Click here for the complete RFP. The application deadline is June 11, 2013.

The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation offers funds via Keeping Music Alive in Our Schools. Music programs serving low-income communities, programs with little or no budget for musical instruments and music programs that serve the most students out of the school population are considered before all others.
